Monday, April 19.   MakerSpace Monday Coffee Filter Art https://dkies.weebly.com/makerspace-mondays   Markers + coffee filters + water = magic!  This week we play with color and water & see what designs we can make.  We have some ideas on the Makerspace Monday Blog.  Take a peek.  Post your creations on our Flipgrid so we can see how they turned out.  (students log in with their inouye google account.)

Friday, April 23   LLS fundraiser ends. Thank you for contributing to raising funds for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Remember it's not too late to sign up at HeroSquad.org. And there are different prizes for those that turn in envelopes with donations.    Every little bit helps this nonprofit fight blood cancer. Seeking to accelerate treatments with fewer harmful side effects.

Did you know there are 2 military museums with free admission on the island - 1 in Waikiki and 1 right here on Schofield Barracks

U.S. Army Museum of Hawai‘i -Snap a selfie with the tanks outside. Then, step inside Battery Randolph, step through an aircraft door and learn more about Hawaiian weapons, the history of the military in Hawai‘i and more. Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 2161 Kālia Road, (808) 955-9552, hiarmymuseumsoc.org. Parking is validated at the Fort DeRussy facilities. $2 for the first hour, $1.25 each additional hour. 

Tropic Lightning Museum  -Learn about the harsh conditions U.S. Army soldiers faced when Schofield Barracks was first created. Follow the 25th Infantry Division into battles across the Pacific and take photos with a “Sherman” tank and a few other displays outside.  Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Schofield Barracks, 745 Wright Ave., Wahiawā, (808) 655-0438, home.army.mil/hawaii/index.php/tropic-lightning-museum
