Bus Payment Reminder for 4th Quarter

Payment for quarter 4 bus passes are now being accepted in the school's office.  Pay by cash or check payable to: Department of Education.

Prices remain at: Round Trip: $72. One way: $36. Coupons: 12:50 per sheet of 10 (cash only).  The office will be open through the Spring Break.  If you're paying by the quarter , don't forget to bring your student's bus pass so it will be updated.

If your child will not be returning to Daniel K. Inouye Elementary next school year, please complete a form and turn into the office by March 13.  Requests received by March 25 will have transfer papers ready for pick up on June 5.  If you are unsure of when your child's last day will be, remember we require 2 weeks notice to have release packet ready for pick up on your child's last day of school   Students attending Wheeler Middle School next year DO NOT need to turn in form.

The PTO appreciates all volunteers! Incentive program for volunteers this month is for 1st & 2nd grades. Parents from these grades that volunteer in March might win a pizza party for their child's class.  Here are links for sign up opportunities this month.

Fri. March 6        Last day of Spirit Week - Who Am I? Dress as a famous person.  Wanted to thank everyone that participated in Spirit Week. Really creative and fun outfits on everyone have been lots of fun!

Mon. March 9      Chaperone Training 8:00 - 8:30am in PCNC office in corner of main office

                      Copy Training 8:30 - 9:30, meet in PCNC office and go to copy room - no kids

                      2nd Grade Field Trip to Hawai'i Theater for Youth

Tues. March 10     Jamba Juice and Book Swap in the cafeteria after school - $5 smoothies

                      Drama production of 2 - 1 act plays start at 5:30pm - after 25 minutes first play ends and PTO has brief General Membership Meeting to hear the great things they are doing, then the 2nd play is performed, Thanks for supporting the PTO and our young actors!

Poster Contest Due March 13

Leilehua Complex Poster Contest - As an Effective User of Technology, create a poster that shows how to be a Good Digital Citizen.

All words and drawings should show how you are a good digital citizen. 

Entries will be judged on: the message & the drawings & attractiveness.

Entries must fit on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper.

Put your name, school and grade level on the back of your paper.

Due by Friday, March 13, 2020 to Ms. Clarkes box in the office.

Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded at this year's Day of Innovation at Leilehua High School on April 18, 2020.  Grade Divisions are K - 2  &  3 - 5  &  6 - 8

Tuesdays  & Thursdays Enhance your abilities in soccer, basketball or volleyball for ages 5 - 17. Youth Sports & Fitness presents the Functional Fitness Power Camp. Cost is $40 for 6 1 hour sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm - 6pm or 6pm - 7pm, at Bennett Youth Center. Sat. May 7           Home Depot Workshop from 9am - noon for free.

You get to check an errand off your to-do list and your keiki can get hands-on at Home Depot this weekend – it’s a win-win for everyone. At this month’s free kids’ workshop, children will hammer and glue to construct their own binoculars to take home. Kids will also receive a workshop apron, certificate of achievement and commemorative pin. Your adult supervision is required. Sat. March 7                 Lā Keiki Day at Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki from 10am - 1pm for free.  Even your boys will be excited to celebrate Girl’s Day (officially March 3) with keiki games, crafts, live music and special appearances by some of today’s most popular movie characters. Spice up your keiki’s bookshelf with some new favorites at this sale, which benefits the Mānoa Public Library. Most books, CDs and DVDs will be priced at $1, so your kids can be proud to use their allowance or piggy bank savings to make their purchases.
