Operation Hero is still accepting students to sign up and classes start soon. This free afterschool program meets twice a week for 10 weeks. Fri. Feb. 14                Leilehua Complex Basketball tournament for 5th graders on team

                      Lunch with parents is today. Come before your child's lunch time to the front office so you have time to sign in with picture id. When your child's class comes to the cafeteria with your pass, you can have them come with you to find a place on a bench or grass to eat lunch together. You might want to bring a blanket to sit on and make sure to bring your own lunch also.  All lunch times last 30 minutes, start times are: Pre K at 10:20, kindergarten at 10:30, Head Start at 10:45, 1st grade at 10:50, 2nd & 3rd grade at 11:30 and 4th & 5th grade at 12:10.

February 22 @ 7:45-11:40 at Sacred Hearts Academy:  FREE Science Symposium 4 Girls (5th to 8th Grade): Girls in grades 5-8 will have the opportunity to participate in two STEM based workshops choosing from 21 exciting options, while their parents attend a Parents Only session presented by keynote speaker, Deena White Tearney, Founder & CEO of Pacific Point, and a panel of STEM experts.  The symposium is FREE.  Sessions fill quickly, so register asap at www.sacredhearts.org/symposium.


Register your group of 2 - 4 people for the Aloha Adventure Hunt on Feb. 29 from 9am - 11am. Starts and ends at SB Health & Fitness Center. Cost is $20 per person and age 5 and under are free with a paying adult (no T shirt included for ages 5 & under) Divisions: Competitive for ages 10 and older OR Family (strollers allowed) Register now at Schofield Barracks Health & Fitness Center or call 808-655-0110

Fri. Feb. 14 .              Leilehua 2nds has many food trucks in their front parking lot and some entertainment from 4pm - 8pm. Leilehua High School is at 1515 California Ave.

Sat. Feb. 15                  Preschool & Kindergarten Readiness Fair from 10:30 - 12:30,  Windward Mall for ages 2 - 5 and it's free. Find out what you need to know to get your child ready for preschool or kindergarten. Parents can gather preschool, family resource and Department of Education kindergarten registration information. The Honolulu Police Department will also be onsite issuing Keiki I.D. cards. Your little ones will enjoy crafts and activities.  Did you know there is also glow putt for the entire family to play a round of mini golf at the mall? Sun. Feb 16                  Family Sunday at Honolulu Museum of Art from 10 - 4:30 (activities end at 2) Keiki get to celebrate what makes each of them unique at this month’s free event. Exploring the theme “Me, Myself and I,” kids will practice self-expression through different media: dance, music and visual art. Hands-on stations include creating a percussion instrument, crafting a folk mirror and decorating a wearable name button. Kids and parents can bust-a-move during breakdancing workshops led by Keiki Breaks and then stay for the group’s high-energy performance. Just a reminder that since Spalding House is now closed, all activities will be held at the Honolulu Museum of Art at 900 S. Beretania St.  (808) 532-8700   honolulumuseum.org


Sun. Feb. 16               Comic Jam is at Pearlridge Center from 1pm - 4pm.  This weekly event sponsored by Comic Jam Hawaii invites families of all ages to collaborate on cartoons or simply observe at Wai Makai Center Court at Pearlridge Mall. Call 203-2366 or pearlridgeonline.com

Mon. Feb. 17              Great Aloha Run from Aloha Tower to Aloha Stadium from 7am - 1pm (expect road closures and rerouted traffic.)  Hawai'i Pacific Health holds the 36th annual event. This is an 8.15 mile course through Honolulu. Registration required at greataloharun.com
