Auditions for the Spring plays are Thursday and Friday afterschool in the Drama Room, D1.  All students must have signed audition form (which is available in main office or D1)  All are welcome to join the DKIES drama group, parts available on stage and behind the scenes.

School Calendar

Fri. Jan. 17         Lunch with parents today. Come before your child's lunch time to the front office so you have time to sign in with picture id. When your child's class comes to the cafeteria with your pass, you can have them come with you to find a place on a bench or grass to eat lunch together. You might want to bring a blanket to sit on and make sure to bring your own lunch also.  All lunch times last 30 minutes, start times are: Pre K at 10:20, kindergarten at 10:30, Head Start at 10:45, 1st grade at 10:50, 2nd & 3rd grade at 11:30 and 4th & 5th grade at 12:10.

                      Copy Training 8:30 - 9:30-Meet in PCNC office then we go to D4 - No kids  

Thurs. Jan. 23     Thank you for being on time every day. Be in class by 7:55 or get tardy slip in the office.

Fri. Jan. 24         1st Grade Field Trip to Hawaii Theater for Youth
                      4th Grade Field Trip to Oahu Army Natural Res Program


Community Calendar

Keiki Great Aloha Run is Sat. Feb. 8 at Ala Moana Beach Park. Program begins at 7am and run starts at 7:30. This Mile and half run/walk along the beach road within the park creates a safe and fun opportunity for kids to run and experience the joy of a healthier Hawaii.  To raise funds for our school, $15 of every registration will be donated to support our PE program. Register at www.greataloharun.com online only for 2020. Register by Jan. 24 for donation of $20 per runner plus an on-line registration fee. Fri. Jan. 17                  Mystery craft activity at Mililani Public Library from 3pm - 4pm (must arrive by 3:15).  Children age 5 and older are invited to participate and must be accompanied by an adult. 808-627-7470

Fri. Jan. 17                  Chinese New Year Festivities at Chinatown Cultural Plaza from 5pm - 9pm (Jan. 18 from 9am - 10pm ) for free.  Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawai'i kicks off the Year of the Rat with lion and cultural dances, food booths, fireworks and a performance by Frank DeLima. Then, on Jan. 18 expect an all day event featuring more food and cultural booths, a doggie costume contest, lion dance troupes, singers and more. Sat. Jan. 18                 New Year Cat Show at Neal S. Blaisdell Center from 10am - 3pm, entrance fees from $5 - 7.00.  Check your cat-titude at the door when you attend this weekend’s feline show hosted by the Cat Fanciers’ of Hawaiʻi. The group’s motto? “Must love cats and never be catty!” At this show, hundreds of Hawaiʻi cats in four rings are judged by a panel of international cat experts. Meantime, you can shop at the Cat Bazaar for handmade items for pets and cat lovers. Sat. Jan. 18                 Mililani Public Library hosts a workshop on journaling for beginners age 18 and older from 1:30 - 3pm. Materials for hands on practice will be provided. Pre-registration is required. 808-627-7470

Mon. Jan. 20        MLK Parade and Unity Rally from 9am - 11am. Parade begins at Magic Island, 1201 Ala Moana Blvd., and ends at Queen Kapiʻolani Park, 2686-2882 Kalākaua Ave. Equality. Diversity. Pride. These are themes of the MLK Parade and Unity Rally, happening on Monday morning in Waikīkī. At 9 a.m., more than 2,000 marchers and 100 vehicles and floats take off from Magic Island and travel eastward on Kalākaua Avenue. The procession ends at Queen Kapiʻolani Park for a (peaceful) rally, food booths and a handful of family-friendly activities. If you’re driving in the area, expect lane closures and delays on Kalākaua and Monsarrat Avenues from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  mlk-hawaii.com
