Fri. Oct. 5             Super Eagle Assembly for Pre K, kindergarten, 1st grade at 8:30 in cafeteria
                           Super Eagle celebration during lunch in the pavilion for all super eagles wearing their lanyard and tag they got at assembly this week.
                Students bring their regular home or school lunch out to the pavilion decorated by the PTO and get fruit cup and chance to socialize with other Super Eagles

                           Cardboard Challenge explore and play student made games  12:30 – 2:00
                           Kona Ice is on campus after school selling refreshing shave ice

School is out for intercession break October 8 - 15. We return October 16 for the second quarter

Mon. Oct. 15        Blessing Ceremony for Kaulele (wave sculpture) at 10am
                           School Community Council virtual meeting on Facebook from 6pm - 7pm

Tues. Oct. 16        First day of school for the 2nd quarter

                           Walking School Bus - families join from 2 locations & walk to school as group. Blue flier has maps on the back of where you can meet the group walking to school together.  If you are dropping off your child and not walking with them, you need to sign permission form (available in main office or from person in orange vest that morning.)

Wed. Oct. 17        Wear your school  T shirt every Wednesday to show your school spirit

Thurs. Oct. 18      Book Swap for kids books & Jamba Juice for $5 afterschool in the cafeteria

Fri. Oct. 19           Chaperone Training in PCNC corner of front office from 8:00 – 8:30

Community Events

Fri. Oct. 5 .    Hawaii State Art Museum First Friday open 6pm - 9pm with live entertainment. Take stairs or elevators to the 2nd floor. Admission is always free but on First Friday there is entertainment and open late.

Fri. Oct. 5 .    Kroctober fest. The Salvation Army Kroc Center Hawai'i 91-3257 Kualakai'i Pkwy from 6:30 - 9pm for FREE.  Enjoy festive activities including pumpkin carving, games, prizes, arts and crafts, and fun for the entire family.  Kids can climb a rock wall, jump in bouncers, play games such as Jumbo Jenga and a potato sack race, watch short films while snacking on popcorn or pick up a pumpkin for $8. Oct. 6 & 7 .    Honolulu Intertribal Powwow at Ala Moana Beach Park, Magic Island from 10am - 5pm for FREE.  come to a family friendly cultural event featuring a variety of Native American drumming, singing and dancers in handmade regalia. Children can make native arts and crafts to take home.  There will also be an education booth, authentic art items for sale, food and drink for purchase.  The most popular food items for sale will be fry bread smothered in garlic butter, fry bread taco with cheese and seasonings, and, new this year, a hamburger patty sandwiched between layers of fry bread. blankets and chairs.  honoluluintertribalpowwow.com

Oct. 6 & 7 .    Oh Baby! Family Expo from 10am - 5pm at Neal S. Blaisdell Center - Exhibition Hall. Your one-stop shop for great shopping, demonstrations, activities and entertainment for the entire family. Over 150 exhibitors featuring the latest products and services for Hawai'i's young families. Everything from strollers to children wear, pre schools to party favors. First 500 people to present the CYD flyer to the box office on Oct. 7 will get free admission ticket. download from website at www.HawaiiCYD.org

Sun. Oct. 7 .    Children & Youth Day at Hawaii State Capitol and area from 10am - 3pm.  Food, fun, entertainment and educational activities for the entire family. Come and celebrate Hawai'is keiki and their talents. Bring your own water bottle and look for water refill stations and dispensers located throughout the grounds.  Free parking at various city and state parking lots.
