Digital Citizenship workshop & Bus News & Book Sale

Due to inconsistent and limited school schedules, students haven’t been getting full value for their bus payments. The Student Transportation Services Branch has determined that bus passes issued for any quarter of the 2020 – 2021 school year should be considered valid for the entire school year. This means that 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter bus passes may be used for the remainder of the 2020 – 2021 school year. Bus coupons are also valid for the remainder of the school year.

Friends of the Library Pop-up Bookstore

Here is a new opportunity to buy gently-used books, CDs, DVDs, art and records for prices as low as $2. The Friends of the Library’s pop-up bookstore opens this weekend in the old Pier 1 space in Ward Village this Saturday. Books are sorted by categories in bookshelves along the perimeter and on foldout tables set up throughout the space. The nonprofit, which raises money to support our libraries, will regularly refresh the inventory during its 3-month stint. And with more than 175,000 items to sell, you never know what you will find every time you arrive.

Free admission. Prices for items start at about $2 for kids books, $2-$3 for DVDs and $8 for Blu-ray movies.

Opens Saturday, Feb. 27 through the first week of June. 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Closed Monday.
