The world is so different now. However 2 things remain the same at DKIES. We are finishing the 1st quarter of school with a Book Fair (virtual) and the Cardboard Challenge. What will you create out of cardboard and other items?

Makerspace Monday: Get ready for the Virtual Cardboard Challenge!  For ideas & more information on The Cardboard Challenge, click here.   Makerspace Monday will be all about brainstorming ideas for YOUR cardboard challenge game & learning some simple techniques to work with cardboard.  https://dkies.weebly.com/makerspace-mondays. You don't have to do it on Monday!  Families are invited to watch/listen to the books, make the art & share their creations with our school community via the Flipgrid video.  

"What's New?" Wednesday Webex, September 23, 9:30 a.m.

Join our "What's New?" Wednesday Webex to meet a Creative Thinker & Designer, Mr. Json. He created the games "Feed the Frogs," Zombie Eyes & all our shadow puppet theaters in the library.  He also made this zany Big Draw video.  https://youtu.be/UHzxSzPmBOc   So, have your pens & paper ready!  He will walk you through the brainstorming process to create your Cardboard Challenge game.   

*Mrs. Colte will open the Webex at 9:15 so students can log in & get settled before the session starts. Students with chromebooks need to click the phone icon & call in with their computer to hear the webex.

Wednesday, September 23, 1:45-2:45 - Drive through Makerspace Supply Pick up.  Pick up art/recyclable supplies for your Cardboard Challenge game! Students will receive a bag of "goodies" they can use for Cardboard Challenge OR use in your own at home Makerspace.
