Meet a Local Comic Book Author, Thursday, February 27, 2:20-3:30
In celebration of Digital Learning Day, Mrs. Colte has invited local comic book author Audra Furuichi to visit our school! Ms. Furuichi writes the online comics Nemu Nemu and HenshinRider. You can learn more about her here: https://audrafuruichi.com/ Students in grades K-5with their parents will be invited to listen, draw along with Ms. Furuichi and tell stories through comics at this after school family event in the library.  Her books & plushies will be available for purchase.

Mon. March 2      Read Across America celebrates Dr. Suess birthday. We will have soldier readers from our military partner the 25th HHBN on campus in the afternoon to read to classes. Studies show that children of all ages benefit by being read to.

Tues. March 3      Papa Johns fundraiser - turn in receipts for sales between March 3 & 10

Wed. March 4      Wear your school shirt every Wednesday to show your school spirit

Thurs. March 5     Chaperone Training 1:30 - 2:00 in PCNC office in corner of main office

Fri. March 6        School starts at 7:55 every day. Be in your seat or get tardy slip from office


Community Calendar

2020 Keiki Rainbow Run on March 28. Register by Feb. 29 at Keikirainbowrun.org.  $15 for kieiki runners (ages 3 - 14) and $10 for teachers & parents.  Your keiki registration fee goes back to our school to support the PE program!  Warm-up starts at 8 and run starts at 8:30 at University of Hawai'i at Manoa.  Keiki registration includes a T shirt; adults may purchase T shirts separately.  A $10 late fee will be added to all registrations after Feb. 29.  Strollers are not allowed on the course. B.O.S.S Community Flea Market and Garage Sale 2020 at the Nehelani Front Lot from 8am - noon on March 28 (stalls open Feb. 17). Also on June 6 (stalls open April 21) &  Aug. 1 (stalls open June 22)  Sellers $10 fee for Market Space which includes table and 2 chairs. Tuesdays  & Thursdays Enhance your abilities in soccer, basketball or volleyball for ages 5 - 17. Youth Sports & Fitness presents the Functional Fitness Power Camp. Cost is $40 for 6 1 hour sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm - 6pm or 6pm - 7pm, at Bennett Youth Center. Fri. Feb. 28          Snug as a Bug at Bishop Museum from 5pm - 7pm - cost is $10 per adult and $15 per child (online ticket purchase required)  If you’re reading this before Friday noon, it’s not too late to book online reservations for Friday night’s keiki pajama party. Recommended for ages 2 - 8.  Bring a favorite plush toy or stuffed animal to the museum around 5 p.m., then join other families for bug-themed games and activities before leaving the toy to “sleep” at the museum. (You and your kids go home to slumber in your own beds). Feb. 28, 29 and March 1      Super American Circus at the Blaisdell Arena. Sun. March 1       Keiki Fun Sunday at Sea Life Park from 10am - 1pm
