Thurs. Aug. 29     Popcorn Thursday, prepay for your $1 bag of popcorn & it's delivered to class

                      Family Fitness Fun Fair after school on the back field 2:15 - 4pm for free.  Many community resources and fun activities to encourage your entire family to move naturally.  Jamba Juice will be selling smoothies for $5. cash

Fri. Aug. 30        Boxtops Collection Day but you can download the Boxtops Ap and scan receipts now.  Keep on clipping labels off qualifying products and sending them in to your class.

1 Parent can come have lunch with your child today.  Sign in at office first as a visitor and get a badge.  Make sure you check school schedule so you are in lunchroom before that grade level arrives.  You can connect with your child and find a quiet place you would like to eat together.  This could be a picnic under the tree, might want to bring blanket to sit on.

Wed. Sept. 4       Chaperone Training 8 - 8:30 in PCNC office in corner of main office.

Thurs. Sept. 5      1st Fall Festival committee meeting 8am - 9am in PCNC office

Fri. Sept. 6         Copy Training 8 - 9am. Meet in PCNC room. We will go to copy room - No kids

Community Calendar

Aug. 31 - Sept. 1 .    37th Annual Okinawan Festival at the Hawaii Convention Center.  Celebrate all things Okinawan at this incredible gathering.  Eat some fresh andaagi and andadogs.  Admission is $2.00 per person - cash only. Free for children age 12 and under and seniors ages 65 and older. Sat. festival 9 - 5 and Bon Dance 5:30 - 9:30 and Sun. 9am - 4pm.  free parking at McKinley High school with shuttle to Convention Center.  $3. charge from HCC to McKinley (unless you buy a festival pin).  Convention Center Parking $10.  

Sat. Aug. 31 .    Aloha Festivals 2019 Opening Ceremony at Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki from 5pm - 6pm for free.  Kicking off the month-long Aloha Festivals, attendees of the royal court Investiture & Opening ceremony will witness the newly chosen royal court don their colorful traditional cloaks, helmets, head feather lei and other symbols of their reign in a spectacular display modeled after the royal ceremonies of ancient Hawai'i.  The Royal Court Investiture will be held on the grounds of Helumoa at The Royal Hawaiian's Coconut Grove, the historic home of Princess Pauahi.  From there, guests will follow the procession to Royal Hawaiian Center's Royal Grove, where  traditional hula, chants and musical performances at center stage make for a special evening in the heart of Waikiki.

·       Preliminary 1 – Saturday, Aug. 31, at Windward Mall, 10 a.m. to noon.                 The Healthy Baby Contest is the Honolulu Chinese Jaycee’s signature project, with 66 years of history in Hawaiʻi celebrating the health and well-being of our island keiki. The event is free for local ohana with keiki ages 1 to 2-and-1/2 years (born between March 14, 2017, and Sept. 14, 2018). Those who reside in Hawaiʻi are eligible to enter.
All keiki entered will receive a goodie bag and certificate of participation. Final winners will receive a scholarship towards early childhood education. Parents and keiki receive gifts for participating with special prizes awarded to the healthiest babies! In the las few iterations, the Healthy Baby Contest has provided scholarships to Hawaiʻi’s keiki to support early childhood education.                                                       ·       Preliminary 2 – Saturday, Sept. 07, “Baby Health Expo” @ Ohana Hale Marketplace, 10 a.m. to noon.  Finals – Saturday, Sept. 14, at Ohana Hale Marketplace, 10 a.m. to noon

Mon. Sept. 2 .    Haleiwa Art Walk from 3pm - 8pm.  Enjoy the town's man galleries, shops and restaurants and find unique gifts from local artists and vendors. Haleiwa Art Gallery at 66-252 Kamehameha Hwy. haleiwaartgallery.com
