Mon. Aug. 19                Chaperone Training from 1:30 - 2:00pm in PCNC office

                               Free Books from 2pm - 2:30pm in front of the cafeteria and the eagle Medallion.  
                              Help yourself to reading books for kids and great resources.

                             School Community council Meeting from 2:30 - 4:30 in office, all are welcome

Wed. Aug. 21                School is out at 1:10 every Wednesday

Hourly Care available for infants - preschool children at Helemano CDC.  Hours available from 8am - 4pm and it's $5. per child, per hour. Reserve the same day or 30 days out call 808-653-0724


Aug. 16, 17, 18 .    Made in Hawai'i Festival at Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall and Arena. Admission is $7 and keiki age 6 and under get in for free.  Buying local supports Hawai'i's economy.  Over 400 booths with food products, books, plants, clothing, jewelry, art, products and more on display.  Fri. & Sat from 10am - 9pm and Sun. 10am - 5pm.  madeinhawaiifestival.com


Sat. Aug. 17 .    Girl Scouts Super Sign Up from 9am - 1pm at the Scout Hut on Schofield.  Scout Hut is located past the Thrift Store and MWR at the end of that road. Park outside the gate and walk inside to sign your daughter up for scouts.

Sat. Aug. 17 .    Going Green from 9am - 1pm at Ka'ala Elementary in Wahiawa. Accepting computers, printers, scanners, 1 tv per car, and plastic aluminum HI-5 beverage container.  The community is also encouraged  to stop by with clothing and household goods for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai'i; used eyeglasses and hearing aids for Hawai'i Lions Club District 50: prom dresses and accessories for Bella Project; women's business attire and accessories for YWCA Honolulu Dress for Success Program; canned goods for Hawai'i Foodbank; and pet food, towels and blankets for Poi Dogs & Popoki and Oahu SPCA.  For more information, and to request free towing of unwanted cars, contact Rene Mansho at 291-6151.  130 California Avenue

Sat. Aug. 17 .      5th Annual Wahiawa War Memorial Ceremony hosted by Lions Club.  From 3pm - 4:30 at Wahiawa District Park.  The program will pay tribute to 21 Wahiawa veterans who served with the 442nd & 110th infantry regiments.  Public is welcome to attend and learn more about the men credited with building the first city swimming pool in 1949.  The Royal Hawaiian Band  will be on hand to help honor the soldiers.  Those in attendance are encouraged to bring a lei or flowers.  renemancho@hawaii.rr.com

Sun. Aug. 18 .    Comic Jam at Pearlridge Center, Wai Makai, Center Court from  1pm - 4pm.  Families of all ages are welcome to watch local artists draw, talk story or join in on the action.  pearlridgeonline.com

Mon. Aug. 19 .    Mililani Public Library offers a course in internet basics for adults age 18 and older from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.  Pre-registration is required, call (808) 627-7470

Tues. Aug. 20 .    Super Sign Up for Hui 'O Na Wahine (Schofield Spouses Club)  6pm - 8pm at the Nehelani Banquet & Conference Center.  Come join a fabulous network of spouses!  This is a volunteer organization focused on supporting the local community and military families.  Last year the Hui gave away $244,900. in Scholarships and Welfare grants.  Help us make next year even more successful.  Membership is open to spouses of active duty or retired military, regardless of rank.  www.schofieldspousesclub.com
