OPERATION
HERO meets immediately after school, twice weekly for 2 hours over 10
weeks. In Operation Hero the children
work as a team. The facilitator leads the children in group discussions about
personal identity and how they fit in at home and school. They discuss how to manage feelings and
friendships and practice conflict resolution skills. Children receive homework assistance in areas
prescribed by their classroom teacher or engage in independent reading. The sessions end with each student writing
entries in a personal journal.
A
few spots remain for the spring session of OPERATION HERO at DKIES.
If you want more information or need to
register, please contact Jeric Lake at 624-5645 or at wheeler@asymcahi.org
