When the bell rings at 2:10 – help your child change into easy costume (and parents encouraged to wear costumes that express creativity also)    Buy tasty treats from the PTO bake sale! And purchase Jamba Juice smoothies - $5.00 for 16 oz smoothie.  Then register in the cafeteria to get your program and sketch book by 2:30 for short introduction. Looking for 2 volunteers to help with Make Up Picture Day on Nov. 4 from 8am – noon.  You will be picking up students from classes that arrived after picture day in Sept. Drama Teacher, Mr. Merriam is casting a play
Auditions for the DKIES Winter Production, Toy of the Year, will be held on October 31 and November 1 from 1-2:30 in the Drama Room. We will be performing on December 16 during the PTO Winter Family Event. This play has 11 speaking parts and room for extra elves so anyone may audition.
You do not need to audition on both days, you may show up at any time between 1:00 - 2:30, and you may leave at any time for Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences.
Audition forms were sent home in the Wednesday Folders on October 26 (Grades 3, 4 and 5). They will also be available in D-1 and the Office. You must have a signed audition form to participate.

Thanks to everyone that donated to the Turkey Trot yesterday. At the end of the day, we collected 1,349 cans, surpassing our goal of 1,200 cans! Great job, everyone!

Oct. 29      Wahiawa Halloween free keiki fest will take place from 10am – 1pm in Longs Drugs parking lot at Wahiawa Town Center.  Many Games, keiki rides and crafts. A magic show is set for 10:30am followed by a costume contest at noon. Call 221-2774

This is a hike up to Kalaheʻe Ridge (approximately 45 minute hike) to plant native plants and remove invasive species. Meet at Waimea Valley Botanical Office at 9am 59-864 Kamehameha Hwy RSVP to Hye Jung at hyejung@pvshawaii.org as soon as you can commit.
What to bring? 
Water (at least 2 liters) , Lunch , Gloves , Rain gear (if you have) , Insect Repellent (just for the hike up) , Closed toed shoes , Sunscreen , Hat , Long pants , Long sleeved shirt , Positive attitude
